Affordable Solutions is an independent consultancy based in Soignies, Belgium, owned and run by Hervé Hanuise, specialising in application development using the Microsoft Office suite.
Hervé has a M.Sc. in Engineering, Economics and Management, providing a unique blend of both business and technical skills.

Some people come to me to fix a massive Excel workbook that is riddled with VBA procedures but completely lacks a logical underlying structure.
The keyword here is "foundation": they have assembled a multitude of procedures—much like concrete blocks—but the foundation is missing; it is essentially a castle in the air.
Repairing such workbooks takes far too much time; the solution is to start from scratch by creating a clear diagram that defines the initial data and outlines, step by step, the processes required to reach the final goal, while insisting on a very clear vision of the desired output layout, with every detail of that layout precisely defined.
You can then rebuild point by point, maintaining a clear direction, based on a defined plan and reusing the various routines found in the original workbook.
The years I spent tinkering with VBA functions and procedures have honed my skills, and I can now create a sense of "magic" for clients by solving such problems.
Development rates are $150 per hour or we can arrange a flat-rate fee for a project.
In addition to application development, we also offer ad-hoc consulting to provide answers and advice.
Ad-hoc rates are $75 per half hour.
Many clients like to purchase a block of time up front which allows the client to get answers fast without worrying about billing for each call.

I have all versions of Office up to Office 2024 Pro Plus in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so I can provide a product fully compatible with any version of Excel.
I have worked as a professional software designer and programmer for 50 years.
Over the last 20 years, I have assembled a module library containing approximately 100,000 lines of code.
This library allows me to create applications from modules that have been thoroughly tested and used in commercial applications. This can significantly reduce development time.
When we develop an application or workbook for your company, you get everything associated with the project, including all source code files, XML data files, configuration files, and installation files.
All intellectual property rights are yours. Once the project is complete, I relinquish any claim to any intellectual property rights and copyright protection.
The application is completely yours. I do not password protect any component.
